My Students
I am a fourth grade teacher and have forty-eight wonderful students. I am determined to teach them how to persevere and enjoy face to face learning while we remain socially distanced. We will embrace what we have been given and continue to reach our academic goals.
My class would greatly benefit from the NEWLY released Sunshine State books so they won't experience the summer slide.
This would allow them to get excited about reading before summer. It will also encourage them to read books daily and even over the summer to they don't experience a slide in academic achievement like so many do during the summer months.
Some of my students are performing in the lowest twenty-fifth percent and are below grade level. Some learn in many different ways. Giving the students many different choices of high interest books to read would benefit them so much before the summer months.
My Project
The students are always so excited to dive into a new book and the Florida Sunshine State books are among the favorites. These books help students learn to love reading. These titles were just released and my students would love to get a head start on reading them. We will display them in the classroom and the students will be able to check them out from the classroom and even take them home to read them. They will even be able to take AR tests on them as well as join a fun, competition called, The Battle of the Books.
