Fourth Graders Need Storage for Financial Literacy Materials
Help me give my students 3 portable literature stands to house our financial literacy books, so students can safely pick a book without touching all of them.
I teach fourth grade at a Title I school located in Central Florida. 98% of students at my school are eligible for free/reduced-price lunches. I teach math and science to a total of 48 students. Our students come from a variety of social, behavioral, and emotional backgrounds.
I want to make sure I am doing everything possible to provide a safe learning environment for all of my fourth-grade learners.
My students are eager to learn. This project will provide an engaging (and safe) way for them to learn about financial literacy in the classroom. I am excited for them to be able to access these fantastic financial literacy books we received last year.
My Project
This project will help me safely display the financial literacy books we received last year, so my fourth graders can safely see the various books and safely select a book without touching all over them. The books will help provide important lifelong lessons for forty-five, fourth-grade students. I have been struggling with how to safely display these books we received last year. My current bookshelves would require students to touch all the books while looking through them. These displays will allow the students to safely glance at each book, then only touch the one book they choose to read.
This project will allow my fourth graders the opportunity to view each of the various financial literacy books at a safe distance without having to touch on each of them while browsing.
We will take care of these shelves so they can be used for years to come.
