This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As part of our 4th grade Social Studies unit, my curious and wonderful students learn about the gold rush! This is an excellent way to connect the topic of rocks and minerals and the geology of our state! My students will be observing rocks and learning how to sort them into the categories of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary.

We need more rock samples!

With this project, I am requesting tubs of various rocks and a guidebook to help my students learn and identify the different samples they encounter. I am also requesting a cover for a new iPad that we recently received, as my students will be using the iPad to document their work, take pictures and create visual presentations. The cover will keep it safe and secure!
