This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We start our school year reading as a class, Third Grade Angels by Jerry Spinelli and the students love it! We start off our school year reading this as a novel study. This book helps with reading skills and helps with setting the mindset for the school year. Throughout the school year, many students have made references to the book, which is great.

When students make a connection with a book, magic happens.

I would like to have my students read the next book in the series, Fourth Grade Rats, right before they go into the next grade level. This will help them make connections to the book we started at the beginning of the year and also end the year with another book by Jerry Spinelli.
