This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our diverse school community, many students face challenges related to personal care and hygiene, which can affect their comfort and focus in the classroom. Providing essential personal care items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and menstrual products is crucial for maintaining hygiene, preventing health issues, and ensuring that students feel comfortable and supported at school. When students have access to these basics, they are less likely to experience discomfort or embarrassment, allowing them to concentrate better on their studies and engage more fully in their education.
By addressing these personal care needs, we reduce stigma and support students’ self-esteem, creating a space where they feel valued and respected.
Access to personal care supplies fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment. This not only enhances their overall well-being but also contributes to a more focused and motivated student body. This project aims to eliminate barriers to learning by ensuring that all students can thrive in a supportive and caring environment, free from the distractions of unmet personal care needs.
