This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My position is unique in that I work with kids throughout our school that struggle with reading. Many of them have struggled for some time and as a result have lost the love of reading.

My goal is to not only help them become proficient readers but to re-ignite their LOVE of reading through play based learning experiences.

We have reading programs that will help with the proficiency piece but lack the resources to help them learn in a game-based, fun way! I would like to build a library of reading games to be able to incorporate during their group time in an effort to make reading exciting and enjoyable again.
