Fostering the love of Gardening

Help me give my students the experience of planting vegetables and flowers in class.

My Project

As an inner-city first-grade teacher, I would like my students to experience gardening. The wonder of seeing a garden grow may spark my kids to ask questions like: Why do the plants need sun? How does the plant “drink” water? Math will be added while gardening by measuring how much plants are growing from week to week or counting the flowers on each plant.

When children participate in gardening, the fruits and vegetables that they are inspired to eat will no doubt have a positive effect on their bodies.
