Fostering Social-Emotional Learning and Well-Being in Our Classroom

My Project

The past few years have been incredibly challenging for our students. The COVID-19 pandemic interrupted their learning and created a new layer of stress, uncertainty, and anxiety that many are still grappling with today. As we transition back to a more structured classroom environment, I want to ensure that my students' social-emotional and mental well-being are prioritized, as they are essential to academic success.

To support my students in these areas, I am requesting "A Little SPOT" books, desk dividers, and an Instax printer.

These tools will help create a nurturing, reflective space where students can manage their emotions, learn self-regulation, and rebuild the focus they need to thrive.

How These Items Will Help:

"A Little SPOT" Books:

The "A Little SPOT" book series will serve as a key resource in teaching students how to recognize and manage their emotions. Each book covers important topics such as feelings, empathy, and growth mindset, helping students to process their experiences and regulate their emotions effectively.

Desk Dividers:

After the pandemic, many students find it challenging to re-adapt to the traditional classroom environment, with distractions and overstimulation affecting their concentration. Desk dividers will give students the personal space they need to focus on their work, fostering a sense of security and calm.

Instax Printer, Fridge Magnetic Frames, & Batteries:

With the Instax printer, we can create tangible memories and celebrate achievements and display them with magnetic frames. Capturing moments where students demonstrate emotional growth or classroom success and displaying them around the room will boost self-esteem and reinforce positive behaviors.

Your support will enable my students to learn in an environment where their mental health is a priority, and where they can regain the confidence and skills needed for long-term success. Thank you for considering this project!
