My Students

I am a 6th-grade teacher who has the honor and privilege of helping to open a new school for the 2017-18 school year. The vision of the school is that students learn through play, hands-on experiences, technology integration, design thinking, building, and much more. We believe that children are kind, responsible, honest, and resilient. They are risk-takers, creative, and real-world problem solvers when given the right tools. We believe they are capable of changing the world. And we need to be ready to guide them!

Our students need to be prepared for a future that utilizes technology, creativity, and ingenuity.

In the future, global citizens will need to be creative problem solvers in order to be successful at changing our world. As an innovative educator, I know that each child deserves the opportunity to learn and create. Please help me cultivate the skills necessary for our children to be 21st Century learners and thinkers by allowing them to learn through play.

My Project

The Scholastic Magazines are fun, interesting and relevant to kids. The stories and activities are focused on engaging students in math in the real world.

These magazines, which are aligned with our 6th-grade content and common core standards are a great way my students can explore math around them in the everyday world.

One magazine per child every month can encourage a child to love math and give us a welcome break from our usual routine. Thank you so much for considering this project for my amazing scholars who inspire me to look for new, exciting ways to engage them and foster a love of math!
