My Project
My students are hands-on learners who are in need of new gardening supplies, interactive tools/games, and classroom supplies. All of the students benefiting from this project receive special education services. Many students are working on building their self-esteem and confidence, which is why we encourage leadership opportunities. Our classroom focuses on social-emotional learning and executive functioning skills alongside reading, math, and writing. Creating hands-on learning experiences is so important when working with today's generation of students!
My students seek opportunities for independence in my classroom, especially during academic rotations/centers, brain breaks, and in our garden.
The items in this project will positively impact my students' academic learning and social-emotional needs. The Legos and Magnatiles will be options for brain breaks, the garden tools will help us plant new seeds and keep our garden weed-free, and the organization bins will hold hands-on centers that students can independently use. Velcro and Laminate sheets will be used to create schedules and token charts for my students! The play food will add to our play kitchen for students to use during social skills groups.
