Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students come from low socio-economic backgrounds, where resources at home are limited, and the classroom becomes their safe space to learn, grow, and feel supported. The materials requested in this project will not only make our classroom more inviting but will also directly impact their academic and emotional well-being.

The classroom carpet will create a cozy, comfortable space for morning meetings, SEL activities, and reading time.

For students who may not have access to quiet, personal space at home, this will be an opportunity for them to gather together, build strong social skills, and engage in emotional learning. The SEL books will help my students develop empathy, self-regulation, and problem-solving skills, which are essential for their success both in school and in life. By teaching them to understand and express their emotions, we can break down the barriers to learning that can arise from unaddressed emotional needs.

The window clings will provide privacy and reduce distractions from the playground, helping students maintain focus in a space where they can truly concentrate. These small yet impactful changes will create a calmer, more productive learning environment where my students can excel.

The laminator will assist with organizing classroom materials and displaying student projects, providing them with a sense of pride in their work. The dry erase boards will give students opportunities for independent practice, helping them build confidence in their language skills.

For my students, these resources will make a world of difference. They deserve a learning space where they feel valued and supported, and your generosity will ensure they have the tools they need to succeed and thrive. Thank you for making that possible.
