My Students
My school was rebuilt several year ago after it was destroyed by a devastating tornado. Our community has come back strong and has supported our school. The staff has worked diligently with the parents and students to make our new school a home, we are a family.
I will be opening a new all day kindergarten classroom with approximately 26 students.
Last year I taught in a third grade classroom, therefore I will be needing early childhood resources for my little Panthers.
My Project
Kindergarten students are hands-on learners. My students will do reading and math centers each and every day. In order to do these activities we need a lot of supplies.
In my classroom I am continuously changing the groups in which the students work, this encourages them to work with someone they may of otherwise overlooked.
I have students in my classroom of several different nationalities, I have several students with disabilities, and of course different genders.
All of these activities will be used to make learning fun, while allowing my students to engage with one another in a non-threatening learning environment with students they may not of chosen to play with in another situation. My kindergartners will be able to use the literacy and math learning locks to reinforce skills that have been taught. The ladybug number match and number and counting magnetic activity games will work easily at centers. The Learning Rockets are another fun hands on way to reinforce previously introduced skills. The build a word houses and search and find sight word bags are a fun way to introduce basic reading.
