My Students

Kindergarteners are always a curious and active bunch. There is no doubt that this new group will be searching for "fun" things to engage in, especially hands-on activities. In my classroom, art and STEAM activities are always a hit!

One thing I do to provide fun activities all year long is to create novelty by switching up the materials in morning bins and choice centers.

The kids go wild when you throw some water beads in a bin and let them explore. Then they find a new level of interest if you allow them to use tweezers to sort those water beads the following week.

I want to keep providing these novel experiences that my students love so much.

My Project

Students will have an opportunity each day to use these supplies as they experience morning bins and choice time centers. They will be offered various art materials and sensory items in their morning bins to explore and manipulate as they come into the classroom each morning. During choice time centers they will be offered various STEM manipulatives and toys to ignite their inner engineer and build to their hearts' content.

Students will be engaged with the variety and novelty of art and STEAM supplies, allowing their exploration to be a fresh experience each day!

Supplies like pom poms, eye droppers, water beads, paint dotters, and puffy stickers will all be rotated throughout the morning bins so there is always some new element of interest for my kiddos.

The painting easel will be a high-demand activity for choice time so that my budding artists can showcase their talents. The brain flakes and marble run will be wonderful additions to the rotation of our STEM choice center.

Each day will bring opportunities for these kinder kiddos to express and grow their creativity and ingenuity.
