My Students

Our students are creative, thoughtful and inquisitive. They are a community of thinkers and doers. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!

Funding our project will support all of our students with the supplies that meet their individual needs.

Our school is located in Brooklyn, NY. We are a community that is diverse in culture, race, and socioeconomics. Our students come to school ready to try new things and take risks in our safe fun learning environment. When you walk the halls and peek into our classrooms you will hear them sharing their thoughts and ideas, see them using the tools that are meaningful to them, and observe them collaborating with their peers.

This project promotes an equitable start to the school year for all students in the class. They will be able to dive right into the fun learning experiences we've planned to meet their individual needs. Students will instantly benefit from the use of alternative seating and tools provided.

My Project

We have an enthusiastic, creative group of students. Our students love reading, sharing ideas with there peers, and the opportunity to express themselves through the arts. The laptop tables, cushions, and chair would provide our students with flexible seating options that will meet their individual needs, foster collaboration, and create a comfortable inviting learning environment. Students will be making use of alternate seating throughout the school year. Since the items in our project are stackable, it allows for students to quickly set up areas with ease and gives us the flexibility of reconfiguring the space as needed.

Our students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less distracted by their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. The notebooks, folders, and paper are basic supplies needed throughout the year. The triangle pens, pencils, and flair pens give students the opportunity to choose a writing tool that is most comfortable for them. And the craft and cleaning supplies are used throughout the year. All of the items in our project will be used by all students and help us create an equitable experience.

We've seen how students benefit from choice. They advocate for themselves, gain a better sense of who they are as learners, and thrive in an environment that supports student choice. The items in our project will help enrich their learning experience.
