This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny San Pedro, California. The children from San Pedro come to school each morning ready to learn and grow. There is never a dull moment in our class; my students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They are eager to learn, explore, and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them. We need more materials for the children to engage with, materials that will foster their interest in multicultural awareness, empathy, good behavior, good self-esteem, differing abilities, different family settings and pro-social skills.

My Project

My students need instruments to develop an interest for and fondness of music. Music is important for children's growth and development; the xylophone, triangles and Chilean Rain sticks instruments will affect my students in a positive way and the quality of their life. Music helps children bond emotionally and intellectually with others through creative expression in song, rhythmic movement, and listening experiences. Art and creativity are important in early childhood; children have a blast in the process of creation. The butterfly craft kit, 3-D collage box, color diffusing flowers, ocean animal collage boards, watercolors materials will serve to foster my students' creativity.
