This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I always start my class with a class chant where my students shout and cheer that they are “brave, smart, and unstoppable”. As their teacher this year, I am beyond proud of what they can accomplish under the strain of the year 2020—a year we are not soon to forget. What my kids lack in technology and resources, they make up with their boundless determination and resilience. I only teach math and science--the goal is for all 46 of my students to have math manipulatives to strengthen their learning!
Half of my students are learning from home and half are in the classroom with me—my absolute hope is that I can provide a classroom environment that is both positive and meaningful.
My Project
In my first grade math and science class, we do quite a bit of mini-projects that needs constant upkeep and organization. I truly think these 10-pocket folders will help my 46 students organize their work and mini-projects in a way that is clear and concise for them. Acquiring 46 individual folders has been difficult, but with your help I think that we can make this happen!
These 10-pocket folders will be such a game changer in the classroom.
Not only will students be able to find their work quickly, they will have a neat and effective way to organize their work according to subjects. It may not be the most exciting project you've seen on Donors, but it will mean the absolute world to use to introduce a new way for the kids to organize their hard work!
In this package, you will also see a need for individual whiteboards. Each student having their own board will be such a gift as it will allow them to show their work or work out their thinking during whole-group teaching or small group time. We are sorely in need of them in this math class!
