Foster Creativity in the South Bronx!

My students need 37 art supplies including construction paper, paint, glitter, wiggly eyes, chalk, poms-poms, and sequins.

I teach second grade in the South Bronx in New York City. I have between 26 and 28 students every year. The school is located in a high-needs community.

My students love to do all types of creative arts and crafts projects. I think that it is very important to allow students the time and materials to be as creative as they can. Unfortunately, our school of over 1300 students has only one art room used by an art teacher. The art teacher does not get to see every class in the school, for obvious reasons. It is hard for the art teacher to share what few supplies she has with the classroom teachers because she needs those supplies to teach her art lessons.

We really need some art supplies. I want to be able to provide my students with supplies that will allow them to have fun being creative. With your help we could be doing many projects throughout the entire school year. My proposal includes some very basic needs such as construction paper and glue, but also includes some fun supplies as well, such as wiggly eyes and pom poms.
