My Students
Our school is a small, multi-grade level rural, alternative school in Central Idaho. Within the school complex, we serve at-risk students and those students that are behaviorally challenged. The economy has been struggling for years. This has made finding things difficult. In hard times, we need to get creative to make it happen for our students. We look for other ways to meet our students' needs.
This year has been stressful and a great challenge for all our students and faculty.
The chaos of this year and the pandemic has added to the insecurity for our students. There are times we need special reinforces to motivate these students in the trying times we are in.
My Project
Every day we have students that come into the class hungry. When you are hungry, you are not able to concentrate on learning. Growing teens seem to be hungry all the time. We try to keep snacks on hand for these times.
When their bodies are growing, there is a never-ending need to fuel their minds so they can continue to learn.
I have trouble keeping enough food in my classroom to meet this hunger. Please help us continue to supply snacks for the students in our program. We want them to be able to concentrate and continue the learning process.
