My students need supplies for hands-on learning. They need to interact with content, not just read about it in books. This project will provide lab materials for multiple activities for the remainder of the year.

My Students
My students are awesome. They don't come from the easiest neighborhood to grow up in, but they persevere anyway. They work hard to achieve their goals. We're in a small school in Brooklyn where everyone needs to get creative. Our budget is limited and the students have learned that they don't get the best, but we all make the most of what we have.
My students are passionate and inquisitive.
In our forensics class, we study the science applications of solving crime. My students flourish when they get hands-on experience with the science they study.
My Project
Science is more a verb than a noun. Studying any science requires learning the techniques and then practicing therm. For the last few years, students have had to make do with simulations using dollar store materials that do not do justice to the processes they are trying to learn.
The materials from this project give more realistic experiences, including chemical and lab techniques used in forensic labs and bone replicas, calipers, and lab activities for forensic anthropology study.
The best way to learn is by doing and with these materials, my students will get the opportunity to do the science, to let it be in 3D, not flat on the page.
