My students need Vernier Dynamics System for Physics to investigate motion, collisions, and momentum.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Bailey's classroom raised $1,568

My Students
Any field of science requires hands on experimentation to understand the material. I am undertaking a renovation of the curriculum to involve more experiments and projects. By the end of the course, the students should have extensive experience in experimentation.
I teach in a public school in a low economically depressed area of the city.
The student body is 34% African American, 35% Hispanic, 21% white, 9% other. The school itself is small but caring. We strive to educate the students to the best of our ability and guide them through life as much as we can. The students enrolled in physics come from all walks of life and many are looking to go to college. Many of my students are the first in their family to go to college, so preparing them for college life is one of our main objectives.
My Project
When my project is funded, the Vernier's Dynamics System will be used to investigate motion, collisions, and momentum phenomena with the Vernier software, Logger Pro. I plan to incorporate inquiry-based experiments in my Physics class to help the students understand the concepts. The Vernier's Dynamics System would be an excellent addition to the curriculum.
The donations will provide more experiences that are experimental to my students.
My goals are to foster an appreciation for sciences in general and specifically physics. With this addition to my class and curriculum, I believe that my students will greatly increase their understanding of difficult physics concepts through experimentation and develop enhanced problem-solving skills that will help them in any career path that they choose to pursue.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
