This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
By the end of the year, I would like my students to have hands-on experience with every science concept the state standards expect the students to know.
My students are brought from all parts of the city.
While some are very supported at home, others are struggling to survive. My school is very unique, in that Metro is the only Fine Arts Magnet Elementary school in Texas. Metro is also a Project Based Learning school, which students learn what they need to through hands-on projects.
My Project
With this science kit, the students will be exploring the concepts of force, motion, and energy by designing and testing an automobile to race to see which design will travel the longest distance. The students will be motivated to work in collaborative groups to come up with the best design.
The students will engage and learn about force, motion, and energy to assist them in mastering these concepts for the state mandated test.
This STEM project will encourage students to be creative and critical thinkers.
