Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a low-income Title I school and are very limited on resources and funding. My school demographic population is comprised of 97.6% Hispanic students and 98.8% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. Most of our students are struggle academically. Having the opportunity to be involved in sports for many of our students is a healthy and positive outlet for them.
These students are excited that middle school sports are back and come to school daily and ready to give 110% of their effort in order to maintain the 2.0 required GPA in order to participate in athletics.
My students are enthusiastic about fitness and competitive sports and ready for the challenge.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in helping to assist preparing these aspiring athletes to condition, train, and stay hydrated and energized for athletic events. These materials will be utilized during after-school practices where these students are more than excited to participate in through warm up exercises, stretches and drills prepared to get them fit and ready for competitions!
All of these materials will be utilized to assist these aspiring athletes to reach new heights and to become a better, healthier and more fit (academically, physically and mentally) version of themselves.
