My Project
These books will continue to support the print-rich environment I strive to foster in my classroom. Our library is a beloved space—students gather on the carpet as I read aloud, complete their work there, and enjoy independent reading. Every book added to our library is treated with care and appreciation. My students are grateful for the chance to explore new stories and ideas. Each title has been thoughtfully selected with them in mind—I’ve observed their reading preferences over the past few weeks and asked for their input on the kinds of books they enjoy. Giving students the freedom to choose what they read encourages a continued love for independent reading.
With these new books, my students will have access to a diverse selection that supports independent reading at their individual grade levels.
They’ll also be able to choose titles that genuinely interest them. The most effective way to build reading skills is through consistent practice, and these books will provide valuable opportunities for my students to continue developing as confident readers. Their enthusiasm for independent reading has already been remarkable, and this project will further enrich their connection with books and the written word.
