it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our 6th-grade team curates literacy groups based on reading levels with the hope of encouraging a love for reading. As you may know, the more you read your knowledge expands.
Some children's exposure to diverse literature was limited during the pandemic.
This took a toll on the love of reading offline, stamina, reading levels, and writing. Book clubs give students a chance to detach from technology and exercise their brains.
Many students expressed the desire to read but we do not have many options available. We have no bilingual books and are in need of providing material to English learning students. Many teachers would purchase choices out of their pocket but this is still not giving our students the diversity they deserve because of cost.
Your donations will encourage these young active readers to explore various texts and promote their confidence in reading and writing.
