This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Since coming back to school after the pandemic, as teachers, have noticed that many students do not pick up books anymore. We feel that this is because of the students being so tied to their computer devices. In the past few weeks, I have started giving my students graphic novels and they are so excited.

I want to see their love of reading return and I feel that providing my students with high interest books, I can accomplish this goal.

We need the students to disconnect from the internet and get back in tune with the real world. Books can give them a way to live out their daydreams, become a detective and help solve a mystery, be the princess they have always wanted to be, slay the dragon that has threatened the castle...and so much more.

Please help me bring these fun and popular titles into my classroom for the kids to enjoy.
