My Students

My students are the most caring and amazing group of third graders. They are always trying to help each other and wanting to make a difference. I had a lot of the same kids two years ago in first grade, and they wanted to find a way to help the animals that were affected by the wildfires in Australia. So they designed a t-shirt and sold them to raise money to give to an organization to help the animals and their habitats that were harmed by the fires.

My Project

My students have been struggling with wanting to read for enjoyment this year. The pandemic has caused a lot of kids to not want to read. They have gotten more involved in TV and iPads instead of opening a book. I am hoping by expanding my classroom library, I will be able to touch on the interests of more students and get them engaged in reading. I believe that if I have more reading material to choose from, I will be able to spark the interest of ALL the students in my class, thus making them more excited about reading.
