Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love books! I have a class of 31 students of whom 16 are English language learners striving to become fluent readers. They work so hard to blend sounds when trying to read difficult words.

They are eager and enthusiastic about being able to read and immerse themselves in books.

My students are always excited for story time. They can't wait to be able to read independently. Many of my English language learners are still struggling to read, but are excited and confident that they will become confident and thriving readers.

My Project

The materials I am requesting for my students will be utilized during whole class and small group instruction. During small group instruction, students will practice sight words to increase fluency. As a whole class, students will collaboratively participate in meaningful activities that will support language, fluency, and comprehension.

By donating to our project, you will not only help my students continue to develop their love for reading, you will also help improve reading fluency and comprehension, as well as develop the thinking and language skills necessary to be successful academically.
