My Project

These books will enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students enjoy. Each trimester my students are given the opportunity to read a book of their choice to study the elements of fiction and non-fiction texts. I strive to instill a love of reading as well as a respect and care for books in my students. They are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. Students will be able to choose from a variety of genres, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time now and in the future.

Students often think they don’t like reading, when really they just haven’t found the right book yet.

Offering a variety of fiction genres and topics is what almost always changes their minds!

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
