My Students
"This is the first book I ever owned!" This was the excitement I witnessed from one of my students when he came to the library to show me his new book. Quite honestly, my heart melted. My students are happy, energetic, bright, and excited to learn. I learn so much from their positive attitudes.
Many of my students have difficult trials in their young lives, but manage to come to school ready to learn and succeed.
I admire their selfless character and genuine interest in the many things we learn about. We have many families who struggle financially. Some of our students do not have a single book in their own homes. This is a huge problem when we have remote learning days. I want to change that. These kids are my life and deserve the world.
My Project
We are living in a new age of learning. Jumping from in-person learning to at-home learning is difficult without the support of resources in the home. This project will provide books, prizes, and games to use at school and home.
This project is designed to give my students more than just the love of reading, but the love of creating after reading.
With the integration of art and literacy, I am hoping to take my students on adventures they can recreate at home. It is all about igniting a love of learning!
