This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are super amazing! I just love the way they get together and create songs with their own words. I enjoy watching the children find different items in the classroom to make musical sounds. I am looking forward to introducing multicultural sounds to my toddlers with the use of the multicultural instruments provided in this donation.

I am eager to introduce the Chilian rainstick, Peruvian maracas, Ghanian rattles, Mexican Guiro, Japanese den den, castanets, bells, clogs, tambourine and the bongo drum to my students.

Along with providing a musical experience for these young students, it is my intention to create cultural learning opportunities. Having these musical instruments from a variety of cultures will open up many topics of discussion and give my students the opportunity to learn while having fun.

Being able to enhance our music area will give my students an opportunity to further enjoy the magic of music, freely express themselves, provide the opportunity to connect on a social level, and explore cause and effect all while exploring different cultures.

My students love listening and dancing to music, and with an enhanced music area they will be able to create their own songs to sing and dance along to.
