My Students

Do you remember when you were in first grader at the beginning of the school year? Well, my eager 25 first graders are just starting to put words together in the beginning stages of reading.

I am a 1st grade teacher in a Title I school with 25 students in the beginning stages of reading.

Most of my students' families struggle purchasing the needed school supplies let alone provide books for their children. Therefore, students do not have books to read at home. Slowly I have had the opportunity to collect thematic and/or series' books for the library center. I would like for my students to be exposed to a wide variety of books. The library center needs a book center to organize the books. This will enable the students to have easy access to all books.

My Project

My students need the Arthur books' series and a display book center to meet first grade reading requirements. Currently, some of the classroom books are in plastic baskets and totes. During independent reading time, if students visit the library center, it is difficult for them to find the books and they lose a lot of reading time finding the books that they want to read. It is very important for young children to have an organized classroom. The library center needs to be organized so the students can have an easy access to all the books.

At this particular time, it is very difficult to order any kind of supplies due to budget cuts.

Your generous donation would help my students have an organized classroom. Thank you in advance for your kindness and your help to fund this proposal.
