This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first grade teacher with 19 curious and hard-working students who come in each morning with smiles on their faces, eager to learn. I love their willingness to try new things and learn from their mistakes. They love hands on activities that make them think outside of the box. My hope for my class is to give them resources and unique experiences to help them grow into good students and good people. Given this is only my third year teaching, my classroom is lacking many resources and games that I need to support my students.

My Project

Help me give my first graders easy access to our leveled library. My students are just learning how to read and excited to chose stories independently.

My current book bins are in shelves and are too heavy for the kids to take out of the shelving unit to scan for books.

This new library cart will prevent them from removing the book bins and also help me keep the books organized so that my students can browse with ease to find their new favorite stories. This book cart would be the perfect addition to our classroom!
