My Project
The items I am requesting will add a learning and entertainment option by giving them virtual reality opportunities for learning experiences as well as games during free time or recess. Students are incentivized with snacks (to return borrowed books) as well as being given snacks during recess or as a reward for reading the most books for the month. The flexible seating and/or standing options allow students who prefer to stand to still complete there tasks and stand if they are more comfortable. The bean bag chairs are very popular amongst students due to the comfort however, the 2 I have are worn out, and the kids want to race to get one.
My students are often underserved and don’t have access to the resources that some schools have to offer.
In order to level the playing field, I want to provide them with virtual field trips and expose them to places and STEM opportunities with the VR headsets. Hunger is a reality in America and specifically in our nation’s capital. Snacks can help curve hunger after school.
