This year I'm working with a very inquisitive group of 5th graders who are eager to learn how to use a tape measure.
We have several upcoming units of study that require the students to measure.
For example, they will take part in a gravity activity where they will measure how high they can jump on Earth, then calculate how high they could jump on other planets.
Having a well designed tape measure will ensure my students will be able to successfully take part in this activity as well as those coming up later in the school year.
