Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are third through fifth graders who are full of energy. They visit the gym multiple times per week for a scheduled special. In addition, teachers send students to the gym for recess and character education activities as well as to mentor younger students. The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them and are not only surviving but thriving in this very different environment. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love playing different sports and learning about the positive impact movement have on their bodies minds not only in the gym but across all the disciplines. There are over 900 students in our school! I have a large population of English language learners, many newcomers to the country this year. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids!
