Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items I am requesting will be used to help students be able to create different food items for them to learn how to cook. I will use the the materials to help by making sure that the students keep the food safe from cross contamination and introduction to different tools used in cooking. It is vital to understand how to properly be safe in the kitchen through the use of hairnets, aprons, and gloves. The cups, forks, and spoons will be used to taste their recipes they created. The air fryer will be used as a tool to be able to heat food up as we do not have access to an oven. The mixers and bowls will be used to prep the food. The paper will be used to print out recipes for the students to follow as well as create a cookbook that they can take home to make the recipes with their families.
The goal of this project is for students to be able to create recipes with the proper tools needed.
It truly is important to learn to cook. Food speaks to everyone! Cooking is a life skill that they will carry over into their adult life. I was taught how to cook in cooking club when I was in elementary school. I want students to be able to learn how to properly use tools in the kitchen to be able to create recipes for their families to enjoy. To this day, I still make the recipes I learned in cooking club at home. Yes, it is easier to go to the store and buy food. But, by learning how to create different recipes, you can truly say that "you put all your love in it" to create something delicious.
