My Project
My students are wonderful students from low income families. Having the security to know food is always available to them in my room helps them feed comfortable and welcome at school and in my classroom.
The majority of my students benefit from the blessings in a backpack program, and this is another way I can help provide them with food to fuel their bodies at school, and not just when they go home with the food bag on the weekends.
Keeping their brains and bodies fueled is so important, and they are growing 5th and 6th graders, most of whom a lunch or breakfast portion of food is simply not enough to help them get through their day.
