Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a Title I school in Central Florida. Over 85% of our students are economically disadvantaged. An unfortunate amount of our students live in hotels. As we all know, basic needs like food and shelter must be met before we can attend to academic needs.

No child should have to face food insecurity.

We are able to feed our students breakfast and lunch while they are on campus. The food pantry will help us provide our most fragile students with some food to make it through the weekend.

We specifically chose high protein, easy to make, shelf stable items. Central Florida's hurricane season is rapidly approaching. This adds an additional layer of concern for our students who are facing food insecurity.
