Food is Fuel for the Brain

My students need healthy snacks to help them concentrate in school.

My Students

Can you imagine moving to a new country from a tiny little island? Most of my students are from the Micronesia, a group of islands in the Pacific Ocean. The families have to adjust to a new culture and language. Our school is a low income school with a large population of English Language Learners.

Our students eat their breakfast and lunch at school and are still hungry.

Our students are excited to learn they just need some extra help, so they can learn.

My Project

Snacks and sanitation supplies are needed to keep my students stay healthy.

My goal is to provide my students with clean hands and healthy snacks at least once a day.

Attendance is a problem with some of my students and I want to help prevent those colds and flu with clean hands and a clean room.

It is hard for my students to learn when all they can think about is food. A healthy snack is nutritious and it helps my students think and succeed in school. The snacks will also be used to encourage language development and proper nutrition.
