My Students
I am the teacher of 29 energetic and remarkable 5th-grade students in a city with the most ethnically diverse neighborhood in our country! Each morning my students walk through the door and are greeted with new opportunities to learn and be successful. My students are very creative and, as their teacher, I do my best to foster their learning and provide opportunities to grow as individuals.
Everyone has a story.
Each of my students comes from his or her own unique situation and home life. We have an ethnically and economically diverse classroom full of eager learners and hard workers. All of my students have strengths to share, as well as room to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.
My Project
Many of my students come to school without eating breakfast, without bringing a snack to eat during the day, and then they go home to empty cupboards in the evening. Many of their parents are working evening/night shifts and are not home to cook dinner for their children.
Each and every one of my students deserves to have their basic needs met.
I would like to have breakfast items, snacks, juice, and easy to prepare meals on hand for students in need. Students need to have access to food throughout the day, as well as have food to prepare and eat on the weekends.
