My Students

My students are a diverse group of 4th and 5th graders in a small K-8 school in San Francisco. They have a vast array of abilities, passions, concerns, and curiosities, and they take great interest in directing their own learning. Our school strives to provide a positive, safe learning environment for all students, and we employ project-based learning and promote deep self-reflection to push our students. Half of our students are English learners and 70% receive free or reduced-price lunches.

My Project

My students are a dedicated group of thriving scholars. They take their learning seriously and are committed to being their best selves. It can be difficult to do this if they are hungry.

Sometimes, our students struggle to get through the day because they don't have the energy necessary.

It is a challenge to be your best self on the yard and with peers if you are hungry. It is next to impossible to focus on learning if your stomach is growling. My dedicated scholars need snacks to help them stay centered and devoted to learning throughout the day. This will also help mediate any behavior problems before they start.
