Food for Thought - Putting a Dent in Student Hunger

Help me give my students snacks to have available for them so they won't be hungry.

My Project

I teach at an alternative education school. My students are all children who found fitting in at their home schools challenging for various reasons. Almost all come from high risk backgrounds, almost all are free and reduced lunch. Too many of these children still face food insecurity. If they come late to school they are not served breakfast. If they are short on their lunch account they are not served lunch.

Being in a classroom and trying to learn with an empty stomach is a struggle that our children shouldn't have to endure.

These snack would help reduce this struggle. In addition, they can be used to motivate students when used as rewards. When used as prizes in educational games it increases the level of excitement for the students. Making learning fun increases engagement which leads to better student outcomes.

Please help me make my classroom a better place for my students to be.
