This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students generally come from low-income families that live around the school neighborhood located in City Heights, San Diego. Most of my students are African Americans and Latinos, followed by students from the Pacific Islands or Asian backgrounds. Our school is a unique place. The school has a great percentage of students with special needs. Therefore, our school needs to be equipped with technological devices, lab tools and materials, and other resources that would guarantee that all students have what they need to learn and succeed adequately.
I need your contribution in order to provide my students with nutritional snacks and cleaning essential items for our classroom.
My students would be able to learn better if they are not feeling hungry...they would have a better disposition towards learning. On the other hand, keeping our classroom clean and appealing is essential for healthy learning environment.
My Project
My students will have nutritional snacks as they work on their classroom assignments. Some students might not be willing or able to learn if they are lacking the daily nutrition they need. In addition, all students will have access to cleaning materials and disinfecting items such as hand sanitizers. It is important to keep a clean classroom in order to prevent the spread of germs.
Students will develop the habit of keeping a healthy diet, which is essential for learning.
Moreover, they will continue the task of keeping the classroom clean and appealing for learning. As students develop these habits, it is expected that students will continue practicing cleaning habits for the rest of their lives.
