Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a group of curious, joyful people. They enjoy being at school and are eager to share in class. Every day, they show respect, are responsible, and are safe. They are wonderful students and will be even better adults. They need your support, now more than ever.
These students are in a unique position, in that they are all in a bilingual program, receiving half of their instruction in English, and a half in Spanish.
They are persevering and working hard toward bi-literacy to put themselves in a better position for their futures. It is exciting to see how much they grow every day, both academically and personally!
My Project
The snacks I am requesting, such as Rice Krispies Treats, chips, and fruit snacks, will make a difference in my students’ learning because it will help them focus on learning instead of their growling stomachs.
Many of my students will be coming to school without having breakfast and the items I am requesting will help them with the most basic need of hunger.
We are returning to school fully in person the school year and we are so excited. In fact, the enrollment at our school has increased significantly. I want to do my part to make sure that my students are fed and learning. Thank you for your help in that!
