My Students

Can you hear the crowd cheering, the thump-thump swish, or the ref's whistle? Oh, and that fresh-popped popcorn smell? Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt when your parent gave you a few dollars and said, "Go buy you something from the concession stand."

Our students enjoy being a part of a team, and the concession stand is where everyone goes to interact and really feel like part of the community.

The smiles, the high fives, and a little coaching advice from friends, parents, teachers, and teammates gathered at the concession stand, make for a positive and nurturing school environment.

My Project

My school is located in the foothills of North Carolina. Our students and their families have been impacted by the loss of furniture manufacturing businesses in our area. We want our school to be the place they feel acceptance and positivity.

The goal of my project is to create a concession stand where our parents and students are able to come together to enjoy food and fellowship at various school, athletic, and community events.

The popcorn and hot dog machines will allow us to provide our families with low-cost food items and help us create an environment that encourages positive interaction with other families, our teachers, our staff, and community leaders.
