Great Beginnings at Magnolia Park is what we like to give our kiddos when they walk through our doors! Our school is one of three in a very close knit community of Ocean Springs on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast and we have students in Kindergarten through the 3rd grade.
As the Technology Teacher, I strive to give my students an opportunity to explore and grow their techno skills.
Students attend Special Area once per week for 50 minutes. They develop sound keyboarding skills cumulatively throughout their years at Magnolia Park. They learn about Microsoft applications, like Word, PowerPoint and Publisher, as well as Google Docs to create projects that will give them a good foundation of skills on which to build.
Students are enthusiastic when they discover how to apply their techno skills and combine them with research opportunities as they explore the Internet. They are bright, inquisitive and crave more advanced resources which keeps me busy trying to stay ahead of the curve!
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my request! Together, we can fuel the next generation, one little mind at a time!

My Project
Let's put the interactive creativity right in the hands, literally, of students to explore with the use of an iPad! Imagine the best virtual experience with an iPad and merge it with physical play with any old flat surface.....then just add students to create a magical world of digital discovery! The OSMO Genius Kit comes with applications to explore science, math, language arts and more. Through actual play, students can experience the artificial intelligence of the gaming system by themselves or with a partner!
As a resource, OSMO can challenge students to Explore more, Imagine more, Create more, Learn more!
OSMO, in conjunction with an iPad, will provide tactile explorations to help develop critical thinking skills using multi-sensory resources to make those valuable connections....the "a-ha" moments....a reality. Great Beginnings!
