This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every time the children enter the school library, I want them to be excited to learn about all the new people, places, lessons, and journeys they will be able to encounter during their library time!

This is my first year as the school librarian at this elementary school.

Our schools is home to almost 600 eager learners in grades Pre-K through 5th grade. Our students come from diverse backgrounds. Some of our families face a daily struggle just to provide for their families basic needs. I am very excited to have the opportunity to bring many positive library experiences to our school.

My Project

My library students need hands-on activities for learning centers in the library. After story time and book check out, students have time to participate in learning centers. I want to make sure these centers are interactive and interesting. The Folk Tale Problem Solving STEM kits present a STEM problem in classic folk tales. These kits will allow them to recreate classic stories and solve different STEM problem. The Magna-Tiles and wooden blocks will allow me to create other learning centers for my young students. The storage bins and containers will be used to keep the materials and supplies for the learning centers organized.
