This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Words cannot describe how excited I am to have my first classroom! Due to the fact this is my first year teaching, I am trying to grow and expand my resources! In addition, our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the city, where students speak a multitude of languages.
As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Every day, I make sure to welcome my students with a smile on my face and, in return, they exchange a smile back, ready to learn and succeed. Despite many hardships my students may face, they are eager and put in their best effort. They know that our classroom is never about a perfect outcome; it is instead about the risks and effort put forth. My students certainly deserve a successful and engaging classroom, where they can become life long learners.
My Project
We are hoping to receive folders for our classroom in order to keep our materials safe and long lasting. With these folders I will be able to store passages worksheets and activities for future students as well as current students. I am also hoping to receive a laminate paper in order to preserve our engaging games that I’ve created this past year I’m hoping that I will be able to reuse these for all my students. Also, I am hoping for sheet protectors so that my students can Use expo markers on his sheet protectors in order to complete activities.
