Foldables For Young Scientists

My students need markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, construction paper, rulers, pencil sharpeners, and table caddies to hold supplies for each group.

My Students

Help us to learn, study, and be creative! The best learning tools and study guides are created using a hands-on approach by creating a foldable.

Middle school is a difficult time for many students, especially when you live in a low income county.

Student learning is dependent upon the information gained inside the classroom, because many students do not have anyone at home to help with school work. Many of my students have learning disabilities and lack a desire for learning. Most only need guidance and encouragement to succeed.

My Project

Each year, new students arrive without supplies needed for school. Many students are embarrassed and do not complete class assignments because they do not have the necessary materials. My students need a caddy at each group table so they can use the materials supplied to create their own foldable learning and study guides. Each caddy will contain scissors, markers, glue, rulers, etc. Each foldable made will correlate to state standards, while giving students an opportunity to use their creativity and kinesthetic energy to learn. An example from each unit we would like to create include: The Rock Cycle, Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle, Plant and Animal Cells, and Newton's Laws of Motion.

By providing students with the necessary materials needed to create a foldable for each unit taught, as well as giving them an outlet for their excess energy they have no choice but to succeed.

Each student will be able to create their own learning resources throughout the school year, and because it is enjoyable, students won't even realize they are learning.
