Focusing On Our Studies with Organizational Supports

My Project
2nd grade is a great foundational year to begin learning processes and skills to organize supplies and materials to be able to focus more effectively on classwork. Students are not able to complete assignments and activities if they do not have the tools to do so readily and easily accessible. One of my goals each year is to teach my 2nd graders the beginning skills of organization and taking responsibility for their areas and supplies that they use each day in class.
I encourage my students to take pride in their learning environment and impress upon them that our classroom belongs to each student in class.
My students are responsible for maintaining their desk space. With the hanging chair pockets and crayon containers, I hope to provide them with the materials they need to help facilitate their learning environment, so they spend less time hunting for their supplies and more time using them to learn.
It's my responsibility as their teacher to lead by example. So with the containers, mailbox, and remaining teaching supplies, I hope to provide a cohesive and organized class to better utilize the space in our classroom. With classroom supplies easily visible and labeled, students will have immediate access to what they need to work at their full potential in class.
